Matthew Meder enters the construction industry, building the hands-on expertise and network of trades that would later define Green Key's standards.
Mastering the Craft
Matthew completes his Red Seal in Carpentry at Red River College Polytech, cementing the technical foundation and deep understanding of structural framing that anchors his career.
Strategic Project Management
Transitioned from hands-on field work to a strategic office role as Project Manager, bridging the gap between site execution and overarching project planning.

Spent these crucial years serving as General Manager across three different companies, refining executive skills, operational leadership, and business acumen before striking out independently.
Green Key Builders Founded
Green Key Builders Inc. is officially established in Winnipeg. The core focus: custom homes and smaller multi-family projects built on a foundation of transparency, quality, and Indigenous values.
National Recognition
GKB achieves a major milestone in compliance and quality by becoming an approved home builder with Natural Resources Canada.
Provincial Recognition
Solidifying its reputation in sustainable building, GKB becomes a registered contractor and preferred builder with Efficiency Manitoba.
Community Roots & MMF HELP
When communities need support, Matthew shows up. Working closely with the MMF HELP Program, GKB contributes deliverables and hands-on execution to renovation programs across Manitoba. For Matty, giving back was never just a program—it is simply the right thing to do.
Commercial Expansion
Operations grow into complex commercial builds and highly technical regulated facilities, proving Green Key's capability and adaptability across every environment.
Sustainable Innovations
Launched the "Air Source Heat Pumps" Pilot Project with AKI Energy and Efficiency Manitoba, successfully completing and upgrading 10 homes in the First Nation Community of Dakota Plains.
Municipal Contracts
Began general contracting work for the City of Winnipeg, delivering renewal and remediation projects that keep community centres across the city safe, modern, and ready to serve their neighbourhoods.
Partnership with Long Plain First Nation
Completed the Long Plain Rez Plex Addition & Refresh for Long Plain First Nation in Portage la Prairie, delivering a modern, accessible community hub for families, elders, and youth.

Achieved the Certificate of Recognition (COR®) through the Construction Safety Association of Manitoba (CSAM). This nationally recognized accreditation verifies Green Key's comprehensive and rigorously audited health and safety management systems, setting the highest standard for workplace safety across all job sites.
